A perfect king, son of Ayu and Indumati. The demon Hunda robbed him and wanted to kill him, his cook saved the child. He married Ashokasundari, a daughter of Shiva and Parvati.
For a short time he was Indra, the lord of heaven.
One of his six sons was Yayati.
