Mayasura

Maya is the illusion of seeing the phenomenal, ephemeral world as real. It is personified as a demon (asura). He is the son of Kashyapa and Diti, married with the apsara Hema. Their sons are Dundhubi and Mayavi, killed by Vali, and Vyoma, killed by Krishna. Their daughter, Mandodari is married with Ravana.

Maya is the architect of the demons, as Vishvakarma is the architect of the Gods.

He built Yudhishthira’s palace in Indraprastha out a gratitude that he survived the fire in the Khandava forest. He designed the lower worlds and Ravana’s Lanka. What he built in detail varies in the myths.
