Kapala

Kapala is both the skull and the bowl, which becomes the skull bowl, as a symbol of the ephemeral in the Kapalika tradition, whose members worship Shiva as Bhairava.

Shiva is the skull bearer, the Kapalamala is his garland of skulls.
