Ananta

The world serpent, oh which Vishnu rests as Narayana, the primal being from whom creation emerges. Another name of Ananta is Shesha.

Anantasayana,  Sheshasayana is the resting place. The common translation is snake bed.

Ananta means ‚endless‘. Shesha means ‚leftover‘. Only from a leftover something new, a new creation, can emerge.
