As Lord of the Universe Krishna is worshiped in Puri, together with his brother Balarama and his sister Subhadra.
At the famous Ratha Yatra, chariot procession, once a year, on the second day of the bright phase of the moon in the month of Ashadha (June/July) the trio is drawn by devotees through the city in their cars.
Krishna’s car is Nandighosha, Balarama’s is Taladhvaja, Subhadra’s is Devadalana.
On the fifth day Hera Panchami is celebrated.
Shiva is also worshiped as Lord of the Universe as Vishvanatha.
