Son of King Vrika, married to Yadavi. A wise king, popular with the people, whose success went to his head. Vishnu and Lakshmi turned away from him. He was defeated in battle and expelled from the country.
He sought protection from sage Aurva. When he died, Yadavi wanted to throw herself into the cremation fire. But she was pregnant and Aurva prophesied that she would become the mother of a mighty king. Yadavi stayed with Aurva and gave birth to Sagara.
