Gomati/Gomati Chakra

A tributary of the Ganga that flows into the sea at Dwaraka.

A flat-round stone is found in the Gomati, which is called the Gomati Chakra and is equated with Vishnu’s disc, Sudarshana Chakra.

Brahma’s mind-born sons preferred to meditate rather than marry and populate the world with offspring. Sudarshana Chakra appeared to them, they worshiped it, but missed a river for the ritual ablutions.

Brahma asked Ganga to go to earth where she would be known as Gomati. Vasishtha would show her the way. She should follow him as the daughter follows the father. Thus Gomati is considered to be Vasishtha’s daughter.
