The churning of the milky ocean by Gods and Demons to bring out the nectar of immortality, Amrita.

Mount Mandara was the churning stick.
The basis was Vischnu in his Turtle, Kurma, Avatar.
Snake Vasuki was the churning rope – the demons pulled on the head, the Gods on the tail.

14 wonderful things appeared, which are listed differently in the stories. Here are the more or less uniformly named: The moon, whom Shiva put in his hair, Lakshmi, Parijat Tree, Halahala, Dhanvantari, Airavata, Ucchaishravas, Kamadhenu, Kaustubha Mani, Panchajanya Shankha, Apsaras.
