A sage who lived on the banks of the Yamuna.
One day he saw Garuda catching a fish and forbade him to ever come back into this water. It would be certain death.
Because of this curse the serpent Kaliya (masculine) set out with his family to the Yamuna, because he felt safe here. The security made him arrogant and he was chased away by Krishna to the island of Ramanaka.
