A king whom Indra and Agni wanted to test as a falcon and a dove.

The falcon chased the pigeon and the pigeon sought protection from Shibi. After arguing that it was the falcon’s nature to hunt, Shibi was ready to give as much of his flesh as the dove weights to the falcon. The dove became more and more heavy – when all his flesh layed on the scale, Indra and Agni stood before him and Indra gave him back his flesh.

Shibi is considered the embodied selflessnes.
